Ultrasound 1/29/09

I had an appt. yesterday and everything went well. I guess I'll be getting ultrasounds everytime I go, my doctor is really cool and young so I'm loving him right now. He's listened to everything, all my complaints, nonsense and jokes, LOL. He's really down to earth and very helpful. Oh and his name is Dr. Tsai, BTW. I was measuring 12 wks and 4 days which would change my EDD to 8/8/09, AGAIN, but he said don't worry about that, we're sticking to 8/9/09 and that's it. I had to take Audrey with me but she was sitting on the other side of the U/S machine so she couldn't see the baby waving and moving like crazy. Dr. Tsai said, "that's one healthy baby," just because of how hyper it seems to be, I feel like it's a boy even more! But we'll see on March 3rd, that's 5 weeks away! that will come and go in no time.

He wanted to know if I'm eating well cause I've lost weight, that was a big surprise cause I eat like a pig. I know that can catch up to me so I thought I'd attempt to look at my diabetes crap again, blah. I keep saying I'm gonna start and I haven't. I somewhat did it today but I've only had breakfast today, hahahaha.

So the baby looks really good, we're really happy and Naty confessed that this is the first time that he's been this happy about us having a baby. I was really happy about that since this was a huge surprise. I think it has a lot to do with our maturity level and how we're better off than we have been in the past.

My next appt. is Feb. 26th at 10:45am
NOTE: Baby measured 6.44cm, growing fast!

12 Weeks

Ok, I really need to find a new website with a cuter baby, that thing is getting ridiculous.

Now my weeks change on Mondays so I'm going to end up changing all of my tickers even though I'll have the baby a week before my due date.

I have my 3 month appt. on Thursday and I start school tomorrow, so this is going to be a hectic week for me. I just barely started getting ready for school and just bought my parking permit! OMG! I was freaking out cause the parking went up to $8 instead of $5 a day. I also printed out the syllabus for my class and called and made last minute arrangements with Audrey's school (a day change). Talk about, last minute! I still need to get my bag ready and folders all organized. I have a bunch of old stuff from last semester in my folders and backpack. Anyway! I've only told my good friend that I'm pregnant because I don't want anyone knowing, but I know once I start showing they'll find out for themselves. The good thing is that I only go on campus for 2 classes!

I'm not sure if I spoke about my energy coming back, but it has! I've felt a lot better and not needing to sleep as much as I did in the beginning. I hated the way I felt and would pray the sleepiness would go away, I didn't feel normal. My nausea went away, for the most part, I do get the occasional pukey feeling but nothing bad. Oh and I've been getting nasty hives and headaches. I was told that I couldn't take benadryl during the first trimester so I didn't take any, then I read on a lot of websites that it's safe, but I'll listen to my doctor on that one.

It's really weird how my stomach got smaller. I think a lot of it was bloating and now that it's all gone down, I don't look that big anymore, which is great! My pants were soooooo tight and then one day I tried them again and they weren't as tight, so I'm hoping I can stay small and not get HUGE. Of course, I just pray the baby grows and puts on healthy weight but I've got a lot of baggage and the baby can really hide in there :-)

The kids are still excited and now kiss my stomach and talk to the baby. They fight already about the baby so I'm afraid to see what they'll do when he/she is actually here.

Also, I wanted to talk about diapering. I tried cloth with Bubbs and I had a horrible experience, constant changing and constant washing the sheets and blankets BUT after doing much research I think I was doing it wrong...heh. I didn't know about liners and didn't know about different folding techniques for boys vs. girls, DUH! I just followed what the old folks said all around me and then realized NOW that I was folding the diaper for a girl! but still, I'm not sure I want to go that route cause I feel as if I tried and failed so I want to try something a little more advanced like bumgenius, it's an all in one cloth diaper that's a lot easier and a lot friendler for mom. The drawback is, they're $35 for 2. There's also fuzzibunz which are about the same price but these have buttons instead of velcro. I'm just keeping my options open and will most likely use these with the help of disposables when these are dirty or when I'm on the go.

Ultrasound 1/19/09

Here's our baby!

Naty got to go with me again since he didn't work for MLK day and it just made it more exciting! We got there a 1/2 hour earlier because I didn't want to miss my appt., LOL. You know Naty wasn't happy about that one! So they finally called my name and the guy who was going to do my ultrasound was really nice and just told me, lay down, LOL, I was like...uuhh ok! and in the background putting on the ritz was on, WTF? I felt a little dumb listening to that song while he was feeling me up! hahaha, so I'm just praying he doesn't do the vaginal one on me cause I did not want him up those mighty waters so thank GOD he was able to see the baby very clearly with an abdominal one. So he's clicking away, pressing away and he got close to my right ovary and pressed down so hard that I screamed, I'm not sure if it has to do with my previous surgery but I'm still sore on my right side, it's probably from all the trauma I've gone through on that side. So he's like, "Oh I'm sorry! was it pain or because you have to go to the bathroom?" I said, "NO, ITS PAIN" then he said he would ease up and he did. So that's when he asked if I had family there with me to bring in and I said, "only if its good news," and he said, "oh yeah, its great news, there's a baby in there so no worries," ok. So thats when he brought Naty in and he showed us our hyper child! The first thought that came to mind was, "oh no!" LOL! Naty and I were like, "oh man, I'm scared already" this baby was flipping, moving it's arms and legs and just super active. Then we got to hear the heartbeat! Oh man, that was amazing, I've been through this before and it still felt amazing. I held back the tears cause I didn't want to look dumb in front of Naty but I know he wanted to cry, hahahahaha (we're weirdos).

So the baby is looking great, he/she measured at 11 weeks exactly (3 days off from original EDD), I have a new EDD of 8/9/09, and he/she is 4.22 cms already! that's BIG.

10 weeks....I think

I'm somewhere around 10 weeks so I thought I'd wait to post this. That baby is so ugly but it's starting to look somewhat human. I was having a bad week (last week) and was just laying around, lazy and not wanting to do anything and didn't. But around last thursday, I felt a lil burst of energy and decided to take advantage of it. Since that day I've been up and down and cleaning everything, my in laws were here this whole weekend helping Naty put up tile in the bathroom and my MIL really helped me alot. She did things like cook, help with the kids, wash dishes, sweep, clear lil messes here and there and my least favorite.....cleaned my stove! She was a big help this weekend and I felt a lot better too.

On friday I finally decided to go to the doctor for my UTI symptoms. I was having symptoms since monday but didn't want to go. Finally I had enough and sure enough, had a UTI. I was given Macrobid which is a category B drug, which made me really happy, I didn't know there was a such thing as a category B antibiotic! so I feel a lot better about taking it. Let me put it this way, it's as safe as taking tylenol so that was a sigh of relief. Although it's a safe antibiotic it did make me SICK! so sick that I wanted to go back to the urgent care. I felt like puking my guts out, I mean, my stomach was turning, my head was killing me and I felt so dizzy. I wasn't sure if I was having an allergic reaction or if it was side effects. Well, after reading the inserts the pharmacy gave me with my medicine, they were all side effects, blah. Good thing that only happened twice and so far today I haven't had trouble with it.

Also, my belly is growing, its getting hard and starting to stick out. So far, Naty and Steph had told me that I was showing already. Naty laughs at me everytime he sees my stomach cause he can't believe I'm pregnant and because he sees my stomach growing, YIKES. OOOHH and forgot to mention what MIL told me. We were sitting at the kitchen table and she blurts out, "I still can't believe you're pregnant, actually I feel like you guys are playing some joke on me and that you guys will say that you were kidding any day now, I don't think I'll believe it till I see your belly big," I just had to laugh cause I feel the same way, hahahahaha. I don't believe I'm pregnant, as much as I want to enjoy it, it's still NOT REAL! I really think I need that ultrasound to make it real. The nausea, aching boobs and laziness isn't enough to convince me ;-). But in another week I'll finally see my baby...clearly, can't wait.

Oh and that brings me to my conclusion, I have been thinking that maybe I don't want to know the sex of this baby. I think I want it to be a surprise afterall, it might be my last baby so I think I want to make this a little extra special. I know that will be SOOOOOOOOO hard but I don't know, it's just a thought, maybe I should see what Naty thinks! LOL

New Appts.

I have to wait all over again for my next ultrasound, it's scheduled for Jan. 19th at 9am and I'm just hoping they find a happy, healthy baby in there. I really want to know my REAL official due date so that I can have a real countdown to the big day. I think I'm about a week off from the date on the right of the screen but it's ok. I really didn't want a summer baby but hey, what can I do now! Pump up the AC and never leave home, I can do that.

I really need to get moving, I've been laying around not doing much. I know Naty was fustrated with me but I told him to please have patience with me and understand that this will be over in a few weeks (I'm hoping). I've heard that everything gets better in the 2nd trimester, which I really don't remember BUT I'm just thinking and praying that happens.

So, so far, tired, hungry, nauseous and tired again, that one is really beating me up.
