30 Weeks, goodbye 20's!

9 Weeks Left!

Wow, what an accomplishment to make it to 30 weeks! It's a miracle to have a baby growing inside of me and especially to know that he's healthy and doing good. I've been doing my kick counts every night and he's hitting 10 counts within a minute, I know that will slow down as he get bigger and has less room to move around but I'm very happy about his movement. He likes to start kicking and squirming when I'm laying down and comfortable.

Our room is coming together, I've been working on it for days and doing it right this time instead of throwing things in boxes and hiding the boxes, instead I'm going through each piece of paper and either filing or shredding it. I have so many office supplies that I'm thinking about donating some because I went overboard on the back to school sales. I just love office supplies but its not good to have so many cause they take up valuable space. I've also washed and seperated all the baby's clothes into different piles. I wanted to see how many outifits, onesies, bibs, socks etc.. he had in each size. When I counted the onesies, I had a lot more 3-6 months than 0-3 so I went to the thrift store and bought the remaining. I now have 12 onesies in each size, it doesn't sound like much but I'll see if I need more once he's here cause I'm trying not to buy too much.

This month I need to buy 5 more AIO diapers from that same lady that I bought the others from. She makes a great diaper! I told Naty that we're going to buy 5 diapers at the first of every month to keep up our supply.

Naty worked 22 hours so he's asleep right next to me so I need to take advantage of this time and get some stuff done. I'm almost done with the room! a little more to go and then I've gotta start on the kids room. I'm not sure if I mentioned this but Audrey and the baby will be sharing a closet, straight down the middle. She has canisters in it that will work good for bibs, socks and blankets and its a lot of storage for her so it will work out good! We're also going to get rid of the dresser thats in there now since it doesn't carry much and takes up alot of room. I really need to look on craigslist for a new one, I want that one OUT!

I have an old picture of Audrey's closet, let me look for it.

The blue bins carry Audrey's pants in one and shirts in the other, then the top red ones (6 of them), 1 holds her pj's, the other her shorts/skirts, and that leaves 4 extra which will hold the baby's blankets, bibs, hats and socks and whatever clothes that he's not using at the time. As for the green ones, I'll probl. store some of her coloring books in those or maybe smaller items that the baby isn't using. But anyway, the point was to show all the space and storage. Right now Audrey's sharing her closet with my mom and Audrey's dresses only takes up half of the rack, she doesn't have that many clothes anymore, I GOT SMART! She doesn't need that much stuff and esp. cause she wasn't wearing half of it!

Doc Appt. 5/28

I seen the high risk doctor today and he was so nice! I think I like him more than my regular doctor, hehe. He explained everything and some and also said since my numbers are staying at the high end of the range I should go on medication. He offered me 2 different types but since I'm familiar with Metformin he prescribed me that. I go back on 6/15 to see him again and said I'll see my doc, then see him etc.. I'm fine with that and also my old doctor will be doing the c-section so thats good. He also let me peek at the baby since it had been a long time. He was adorable! I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing and I'm glad I took Audrey too cause she got her own picture of him. I really thought I was going to get an estimate of his weight but totally forgot to ask cause I was so distracted and fascinated by everything else. His head is down and his legs are up under my boobs like I had figured, there's times that he lays straight across my stomach and you can feel his butt/back right across my stomach. He also asked if we should make sure he's a boy (after asking me if I knew) so I said, YES! cause I forgot about that! and sure enough, we seen his big package floating around so now I'm fully confident and 100% sure that theres a penis growing inside of me :-)

If you look at the picture above you can see his big lips and chin! I could not believe that! he has those baby lips that I LOVE! Also, I got to hear his heartbeat which I've heard alot before and for the first time I heard him breathe! its called practice breathing that they do to mature their lungs, I didn't even know that was possible. But overall, it was a great appt. and now we have 9 weeks and 2 days to go!

Old Ultrasound 3/3/09

Here's an ultrasound that I had in March and I'm barely posting the pic because I kept forgetting to do scan it. But that was the day I found out we were having a boy and most importantly that he was healthy and growing the way he should.

29 Weeks

29 Weeks and 10 weeks to go. I had a bad lazy day today, mostly slept and didn't get anything done with this house. I started on my room yesterday and got the big dresser out but everything I took out of it is still in piles on the floor and on my bed. So tomorrow is a new day and I'll be sure to take advantage of it, I was thinking I might be getting sick but I feel a lot better right now. I have a long list of things to do and I'm hoping to get at least 1/4 of them done tomorrow.

I hit the thrift store once again and got a lot of towels, pants and shorts that I needed. My list is almost complete, all I need are the big things like stroller/carseat, swing and little things here and there. I'll take some pictures soon.

I have my doc appt. this thursday so I'll be updating then, bye for now.

I'm so Tired

Don't know if this is a new symptom that creeps up around this time but I've been beat in the past 3 days. What sucks is that I have finals and I should be studying but instead I took a nap after my final yesterday, then I went back to studying till really late but then I woke up late so I don't think the studying really late helps. Instead I'm going to try to study all day and sleep early tonight so that I wake up refreshed for my 3 (out of 4) final. I woke up at 11am, my mom went on Bubbs field trip with him so she got him ready and Steph woke up with Audrey and fed her so I had nothing to worry about but this is lame, I can't be doing this. zzzzzzzzzz I can honestly lay down right now and fall asleep, but I won't! I must study!

Hello Third Trimester :-)

We've made it! 28 weeks or 7 months, which leaves us 11 weeks to go or 11 weeks left to sleep. I woke up really tired this morning and I started thinking about how I'm going to feel that for a LONG time once Nate comes.

We still haven't put his crib set up cause Audrey has been using his mattress on the floor b/c my mom and sister have been in her room for about 3 months now so she'll use the mattress till the end of this month. Once she's back in her room I'll put up the set and take pictures, meanwhile I can show you which one we bought.

The animals are really cute on it so we bought this one instead of the others. They kind of look alike but I like the way the animals pop on the comforter. Once I'm done with school I'm going to Big Lots to find canvas pictures that are reduced so that I can paint over them. I found that idea on youtube one night and it would be a great way to save money!

(I'll be adding the youtube clip, its probably on top somewhere)

Again, once I'm done with school and graduation, I'll be cleaning up this room and putting everything in its spot. My mom cleaned out the hall closet and it looks awesome!! She was able to clear out one whole shelf that will house things that are thrown around in my kitchen. I have everything that came out of the laundry room in my kitchen so you can imagine how that looks!

(my stomach is growling)

Well speaking of being hungry, I started my diabetic diet yesterday and it went really well. I followed it faithfully and had good numbers. What amazed me was when I woke up with a blood sugar of 84! I was proud of myself. Also, I really thought I was going to be dying of hunger and I'm not, I feel really good. Right now I'm hungry cause my time to eat lunch is coming up and I'm having a nice ground turkey burger, mmmmmm. I was supposed to see the doctor this week but I can't! I have finals this week and didn't want to be rushing here and there.

But I did see my dietican and I'll be seeing her every time I see the high risk doctor and hopefully I'll only have to see him once. If I get my sugar under control with diet then I'll be able to go back to my OG doctor. The 2 week visits start now so the time is going to fly by even quicker.

27 Weeks

I'm BIG, I don't know how it happened but my belly POPPED. I'm sitting here with a big beachball getting in the way of me sitting forward. Today when I went to get in my car I underestimated the clearance between the door and my belly and SMACK! When I opened the door I guess I was too close (the distance I usually stand from the door) and it hit my big belly. Don't worry, the baby is ok, lol. He's been moving like crazy and doesn't rest. Yesterday was Mother's Day and Nate made sure I knew that he was alive, I mean, all day he was jumping around in there and esp. at church. I can't stop watching my belly bounce around. OH and I forgot! this morning when I woke up he had the hiccups! hahahaha, I don't remember that with the other babies but my belly was jumping and I can feel him hiccuping, hahahaha.

I just got the diapers I ordered 20 years ago! I don't know what took this lady but there here and thats all I care about. My house is still a disaster and I don't know where to start. Naty and his dad completely tore out the 2nd bathroom so we're down to 1 bathroom for 6 of us, this should be very interesting.

I'm still having that awful pain down there, I've been told its ligament pain so I'm sticking to that. I see the specialist this week so I'll let him/her know. Anyway, I better get to work. see you later

I failed :-(

My 3-hour glucose test that is. After getting pricked 4 times I was set free to eat like a pig and I sure did. My arms hurt really bad and they're turning purple as we speak. Poor Audrey was with me the whole time and was so good. I took her to dollar tree for some goodies so she was a lil entertained, after a while she asked when we were going home, lol. Not in a bugging way though, just very curious if that was our new home! Well it'll be my new home for the next 12 weeks cause I have gestational diabetes and will have to see a nutritionist AND high risk doctor every week now, blah! It sucks but I know it has to be done. ON top of last minute homework, presentations and finals, I have that to worry about. So here are my results:

Component Your Value Standard Range
GLUCOSE, FASTING 90 <95 MG/DL
GLUCOSE 1H POST 100 G GLUCOSE PO 195 <180 MG/DL
GLUCOSE 2H POST 100 G GLUCOSE PO 177 <155 MG/DL
GLUCOSE 3H POST 100 G GLUCOSE PO 119 <140 MG/DL

I don't think they're that bad and can be controlled with diet. I failed 2 of the 3 so that makes me a canidate for GD. In a way this will help me cause it will keep my weight down. From this point on I don't want to gain more than 5 pounds. My goal was 15 total and I think I'm around 10 lbs. gained so I know I'll be losing weight towards the end when I can't eat anymore and then with my diet on top of it, 5 pounds sounds good.

I'm also having another problem, My groin area is hurting a ton right now. I feel as if someone came at it with a hammer, the pain is intense and has made me cry twice already. Other than that, nothing else really. Lil Nate is always on the go and moving, he's moving right now actually. I can't believe I'll be 7 months in 1 week and 1 day.

Before I forget, we haven't set up the crib, its still in my living room and needs to go in its spot desperately. Naty works tomorrow so I told him once he gets home he's setting it up, lol. I'm not that brutal but we'll see! I really want my room done with!

26 Weeks, 6.5 months

Hello!
Week flew by, getting bigger and heavier. Bought a bella band to smooth out my B belly but it only helped a little. My stretch marks are getting bright red (old ones) so far no new ones just waking up my old ones. I've been sleeping good, no complaints but it might be the anemia, lol. I've been taking naps again during the day. Yesterday I had a 2 hour one while MIL was here with the kids and today I had another 2 hour one right after I got back from dropping off Bubbs at school. My mom was watching Audrey while I slept. I really need to buy my iron pills cause I'm just drowsy. After my nap I got up and started cleaning, so thats good!

The baby is still constantly moving and trying to come through my skin. He's always so active but I know that will slow down at 28 weeks BUT the moves will be a lot more intense, alien like.

Well, not much to report. We'll probably start buying things this week and I'll share as I get them. bye

More Baby Stuff

Our baseball friend Jessica gave us a bag full of clothes for lil Nate. Her baby is 4 months and just grew out of everything so she handed them down to us! We couldn't believe what fit in that little bag she brought! a bunch of stuff. So Naty said we've got to take them out to eat someday so most likely Applebee's! So today while we were out I bought her lil boy a couple of outfits since he grew out most of his clothes. We are so grateful that people care that much about us to give us their baby clothes. I know he'll be born in the summer time BUT we'll be indoors in AC so PJ's are best for him in those conditions. Also, he might be able to wear them up until November (he'll be 3 months) and thats when it starts to get a little chilly. No matter what, he'll wear them all! Even if I have to make them short sleeved ;-) We've also bought a few summer outfits for those days that we decide to take him out (rarely!)

Doc Appt. 4/30

Had a great appt. heard lil Nate's heart, was beating very strong and healthy. Doctor mentioned having him at St. Bernadine's hospital in San Bernardino instead of Kaiser Fontana since they have a contract with them. I'm going to check it out before I say yes so that will be one of our many missions to get ready for him. I checked out their website and it seems pretty good but still I need to look at it with my own eyes and visit their maternity ward.

I also had my 1 hour glucose test and that came out high. I think the range is <130 and mine was 167 so now I've gotta do the 3 hour test. I had gestational diabetes with both my other pregnancies so it's not surprising or upsetting. I know what I have to do to take care of myself and my baby. Also, they found me to be anemic so I've gotta take Iron (bleh) and drink lots of water and eat lots of fiber in addition to the diabetic diet that they'll put me on. No biggie.

I'm also happy about my weight and have gained about 7-10 lbs total. I'm not sure where I was at the beginning but I'll just say 10 lbs. I'm almost 6 1/2 months pregnant so thats good! lol. he wants me to gain 25 which I don't think I'll do, esp. if they put me on the diabetic diet.

Overall, great appt. and I don't have to go in till another month!
